Space To Be Counselling
ABOUT
About Me
I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist, offering both online counselling across the UK and face-to-face sessions in Thornton Cleveleys and Bispham.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent more than 25 years working in Human Resources across local government, the NHS, housing and higher education. During that time, I supported people through a wide range of workplace challenges, giving me a deep appreciation of the emotional impact that life’s difficulties can have on our wellbeing, confidence and relationships. Whilst my role was often focused on workplace processes, what stayed with me was the human experience behind them. I saw first-hand the impact that stress, uncertainty, anxiety and feeling unheard can have on individuals. This understanding now informs my counselling practice, where I offer a compassionate, supportive and non-judgemental space for clients to explore whatever they may be facing.
Alongside my professional experience, I bring my own life experience to my work. I am married and have an adult daughter, and I understand that life is made up of many different roles, relationships and responsibilities. Like everyone, I have experienced life’s ups and downs, which has helped shape my belief in the importance of having a safe space where we can feel heard, understood and accepted.
My journey into counselling was driven by a genuine passion for supporting people and a belief in each person’s capacity for healing and growth. I feel privileged to walk alongside clients as they explore their experiences, develop self-understanding and move towards living more fully as themselves.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with its Ethical Framework. I am also trained in trauma-informed practice and have experience supporting survivors of rape and sexual violence.
My aim is simple: to offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can be yourself and feel supported, whatever has brought you to counselling.
